Have you ever thought how a day would be without earing a sound. It would be vauge right? Human inventions like earing aid has helped people to overcome earing ailments and challenges. Sound is a vibration which inturn creates vibrations in air  particles. When these vibration when reaches us, our ears senses the sound and hence ears are called as sense organs. It’s not just human beings that ear sounds .Even other living beings like fish, mosquitoes use various means to sense the sound around them. Come let’s see few interesting facts about human’s hear.
1. Human ear has three types of bones Malleus, Incus and Stapes (otherwise known as the hammer, anvil and stirrup) are the smallest bones in the human body. Stapes is the smallest of these three bones.
Human ear is divided into three parts – the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Each part has separate functions.
2.Our Inner ear has direct connection with brain and anything happens to the inner ear means…you yourself guess what happens!!!
3.Have you ever wondered why every time you catch cold, you cannot speak a couple of days? That’s because middle ear is connected to the throat using a tube named Eustachian tube. This tube is responsible for striking equilibrium between the body pressure and the atmospheric pressure. If this equilibrium is lost we are unable to speak a couple of days.
4.The outer ear is the visible part of the ear and its function is to direct the sound further inside. The outer ear ends where the eardrum starts.
5.Have you travelled to hill station with your family and friends. You would have experienced strange feelings in your ear. This is because when we go high up on mountains Eustachian tube fails to maintain pressure resulting in dizziness, discomfort, ear pain etc. Thus ears not only help us hear, but also aids in balancing our body.
6.Our ear’s functions even when a person sleeps. The ears will continue to pick up sound but brain blocks them out.
7.Humans are only capable of hearing sounds as low as 20 Hz. and as high as 20,000 Hz.This is the reason why dogs can hear much higher frequencies than humans do.
